Learn to Ride Programs
 

Horse Requirements: Clip Clop 

provides safe, sound and reliable, child-friendly, horses for this level, of riders may use their own horse at a reduced fee.

Learn to Ride 1

Riders can choose English or Western style of riding

.

The goal for this level is for riders to learn through guided exposure to horses and knowledgeable instruction, how to be confident horse people.

Regardless of age, this is where all riders without previous experience will begin. Classes will be grouped according to age and ability and great care is given to grouping riders appropriately.
 

This program enables new riders to explore the fun experience of horses while learning with a peer group. It introduces the basic FUNdamentals for riding and handling horses.
 

Riders will be taught the Passport to Excellence Level 1 set of Horsemanship and Horse Husbandry Skills both off and on the horse. 

Cost:

1x Week: $265/month

2x Week: $530/month

Duration: The rider arrives 30 minutes prior to the 45-minute riding session, and remains until 30 past the end of the riding lesson for Off-Horse learning and bonding with the horse.

Learning Assistants:  LAs assist the main Instructor, and attend each class to assure safety, confidence and a helping hand in tacking and grooming the horses. 

Attire:

Riders are required to purchase their own riding gear for safety, hygienic and comfort reasons. See Dress Code in the Parents and Riders Guide Book sent upon completion of registration.

Long hair is to be tied back.

No hoodies.

Learn to Ride 2

Riders can choose English or Western style of riding

The goal of this level is to consolidate the basic skills of LTR1 and develop increased bonding with the horse to establish a higher degree of trust with the horse and in oneself.

 

The Learn to Ride 2 program is for riders who have successfully displayed the PTE Level 1 Horsemanship Skills and are ready to progress.

 

The LTR2 program focuses on inspiring increased commitment to equestrian activities, introduces independent decision making and more advanced horsemanship training. The goals of the lessons are to develop riding motor skills and communicating with horses. The rider learns to be proud of their accomplishments, have fun with peers, make new friends with horses and people and to share who they are with one another.

 

Riders will be taught the PTE Level 2 set of Horsemanship and Horse Husbandry Skills both on and off the horse.

Cost:

1x Week: $265/month

2x Week: $530/month

Own/lease a horse:

1x Week: $192.50/month

2x Week: $385/month

Duration:   The rider arrives 30 minutes prior to the 1-hour riding session, and remains until 30 past the end of the riding lesson for Off-Horse learning and bonding with the horse. Plan for 2 hours.

Learning Assistants:  LA's assist the main Instructor, and attend each class to assure safety, confidence and a helping hand in tacking and grooming the horses.

Horse Requirements: 

Recreational Riders: 

Riders who participate at this level in the recreation capacity, choosing not to compete, are welcome to ride a horse provided by Clip Clip. Please note that riders must modify their expectations of evolvement as the Clip Clop horses are safe, lesson horses, not performance horses and will not be pushed beyond their ability for the sake of a rider. The necessity for a basic performance horse begins at this level.

Competition Riders:

Riders who participate at this level and choose to compete must own or lease their own horse. Ask your instructor for the Leasing and Purchasing Guide.

Growth Track 1 and 2

Riders can choose English or Western style of riding

 

The GT1 and GT2 levels are for riders who have successfully displayed the PTE Level 2 Horsemanship Skills as set out in the Passport to Excellence and are ready to progress.

This program focuses on consolidating and refining basic equestrian skills and stabilizing variants of basic skills and new skills. For those who choose to compete, this level introduces the competitive experience, setting competition goals, managing school with riding, creating a teamwork mindset and solid training habits. This level focuses on increased relationships with coaches and horses and begins to introduce the rider to the horse industry.

Riders will be taught the PTE Level 3 & 4 set of Horsemanship and Horse Husbandry Skills both on and off the horse.

Riders at this level are eligible to become a volunteer Learning Assistant. Ask your instructor or contact our office for more information.

Duration: (Plan for 2 hours at the stables.)   The rider arrives 30 minutes prior to the 1 -hour riding lesson, and remains until 30 minutes past the end of the riding lesson for  Off-Horse learning and bonding with the horse.

Attire:

Riders are required to purchase their own riding gear for safety, hygienic and comfort reasons. See Dress Code in the Parents and Riders Guide Book sent upon completion of registration.

Assessment Lesson

For those who are still unsure if our programs are a good fit for you, we offer an assessment (or trial) lesson for $65. You will receive 50% of the assessment lesson fee back if you register for our lesson program! Contact us for more details!
