Introducing Jr. Horse Camp
Ages 11-18
Our most hands-on,
horse-immersive, leadership-building camp ever.
And! We made it affordable!
The Jr. Horseman’s Camp exists because riders asked for it — loudly, enthusiastically… okay, they begged. You know that pre-teen/teen persistence when they want something and simply will not quit? That was them.
Last summer, more than 150 riders surveyed ages 11+ told us they wanted a deeper, more advanced camp experience… and they made us pinky swear we’d build it.
So we did.
This is the camp for older riders who want more horse time, more responsibility, more real skills, and more leadership experience.
Riders spend their week living the true rhythm of a horse owner and rookie coach — catching, grooming, tacking, riding, assisting younger riders, caring for the herd, and visiting real horse-industry locations.
Come saddle up with my team of horses, humans and industry friends!
Your friend always,
Clip Clop

WHY CHOOSE THIS CAMP
-
For starters, it’s the only camp in the industry where pre-teens and teens without their own horse get a true horse-owner experience.
-
This is a real as it gets without having to buy a horse.
-
We’ve kept the cost down by partnering with friends in the industry who love seeing teens connect deeply with horses.
-
We teach introductory basics of how to assist others.
-
Just for older campers!
-
Tons of hands-on horse time and horse care and horse riding and industry tours.
-
Every week brings something new so campers can return for more camp weeks!
We fill fast for our original pre & teen camps so this one will fill even faster!
(please register early)

Like a Horse Owner
"You Do It" Horsemanship
You’ll be in the middle of everything horse care related — feeding, grooming, barn tasks, and taking on the care of the horses just like a horse owner (with help, of course).
You will ride everyday with the instructor starting with catching, leading, grooming, and tacking up your own horse.
A helping hand is always close.
For parents who aren’t horse people but have a pre-teen or teen who is completely horse-obsessed, this camp is a dream come true for them - and still affordable for you- thanks to our industry partners who stepped up to support Clip Clop.
(Yes… it’s the same price as our OG camps!)

Industry Access
Here’s the coolest part:
Clip Clop knows a ton of industry pros — and YOU get VIP access. That means visiting breeding barns to see foals, watching real (no-blood!) procedures at vet clinics, meeting Olympic-level trainers and their horses, hanging out with rodeo cowboys,
and so much more!

Tuesday/Thursday Afternoon 1:00-5:00
Site visit locations change each week depending on what’s happening in the horse world—competitions, rodeos, race days, and availability of industry pros. Here are some of the awesome places our Jr. Horsemen have visited or are already booked to see:
-
Irvines Tack & Western Wear — North America’s largest horse store (basically Disneyland for horse people!)
-
Spruce Meadows
-
Calgary Stampede – behind-the-scenes access
-
Veterinary clinics
-
Century Downs Racetrack
-
Sandy Ridge Stallion & Foal Station
-
Barrel racing stables
-
Show jumping barns
-
Reining and cutting trainers
-
Miniature horse breeders
-
And many more top professionals in the industry
And yes—Jr. Horsemen actually get hands-on experiences at these places!
Note: If a Jr. Rider isn’t able or doesn’t want to join the site visit, no problem — they’re welcome to stay at Clip Clop and join the afternoon activities. Just a heads up: they’ll be hanging out with the 5–10 year olds!
What You Need to Know About the Horse Site Visits
Clip Clop's Promise to Parents
We take your teen’s safety seriously — and we partner with experienced, professional providers so you can feel completely at ease during our horse industry field trips. From the moment we leave the stables to the moment we return, every minute is planned, every need is accounted for, and—heaven forbid—every possible surprise has already been thought through.
We know exactly where we’re going, how we’re getting there, who we’re meeting, what we’re doing… and yes, we’ve even scouted out every bathroom on the route.
Transportation
All field trips are transported by First Student, operated through West Charter, a professional company we have used before with excellent results. A licensed, experienced driver will operate the charter vehicle.
Campers are picked up directly from Clip Clop at 1:00 PM and returned between 4:30–5:00 PM (approximate, depending on the location and traffic).
Supervision & Safety
-
Three Clip Clop approved (incl. parent volunteers) staff members will accompany campers on every field trip.
-
Each camper will wear a Clip Clop pinnie and ball cap for easy identification.
-
Campers will bring their phones; location pins must be turned on during site visits.
-
A full headcount system is used when boarding and exiting the bus and upon arrival at each location.
-
All staff accompanying the group are First Aid certified.
Clip Clop carries a full emergency protocol binder, including contact information, procedures, and parent/guardian details.
Site Information
Parents will receive the name, address, and details of each day’s field trip before departure.
Locations are within approximately one hour of the Calgary area.
Most facilities are private, and groups stay together with supervised, guided access only.
Learning Experience
Each field trip includes:
-
A hands-on activity or demonstration
-
A topic workbook related to the site
-
Instruction from a knowledgeable horse industry professional
Money & Purchases
Campers do not need to bring money, but it's always a good idea to have a few dollars on hand.
(Clip Clop staff will have a company credit card on person just in case a teen requires something or puppies are for sale.)
If a facility offers items for sale (tack shops, snacks, souvenirs), campers may choose to purchase something.
What Campers Must Bring
-
Water bottle

Ride Along With Us!
About
Parent Volunteers Wanted!
Our Jr. Horse Camp Riders head out on real horse-industry adventures — vet clinics, feed stores, tack shops, barns, and more.
They’ll see horses, meet horse pros, and learn what real horse ownership looks like.
We’d love two parent volunteers for each site visit to support our staff for headcounts, transitions, and keeping the herd (kids and horses) organized and safe.
We pay bus fees and your rider will earn a 15% credit towards riding lesson fees for each volunteer trip.
If you’re up for a horse-filled afternoon, click on the link below and come join us! Get your boots ready!
Pssst....thank you.
